MOELLER BREAKS GROUND
ON GRANDSTANDS AT KREMCHEK STADIUM

Archbishop Moeller High School broke ground today on the grandstands at Kremchek Stadium, marking the start of construction on a project that will complete the home for Crusader Baseball and create a lasting gathering place for the Moeller community. The ceremony brought together Moeller leadership, donors, coaches, student-athletes, alumni, and Miami Township representatives to celebrate a milestone made possible by a transformative gift from nationally-recognized orthopedic surgeon Dr. Timothy Kremchek.

The construction of the grandstands and completion of the stadium will include modern seating for more than 300 spectators, enhanced press and broadcasting capabilities, and guest suites.

“Today is about more than turning a shovel of dirt,” said Jason Niehaus ’93, president of Moeller High School. “It’s about the generations of Crusaders who will compete, grow, and find their best selves on this field. Dr. Kremchek’s generosity continues a remarkable family legacy at Moeller. His father played such an instrumental role in caring for our student-athletes and building the foundation of Moeller athletics. Now Tim has taken that commitment to an entirely new level. His vision and generosity will impact generations of Moeller student-athletes, and we are profoundly grateful.”

Dr. Kremchek, best known as the longtime Cincinnati Reds’ team physician and one of the nation’s leading orthopedic surgeons, has dedicated his career to helping athletes reach their fullest potential. Speaking at the ceremony, he reflected on what inspired him to give and what he hopes the new stadium will mean for Moeller for decades to come.

“From the beginning, the vision for this stadium was always bigger than dirt and turf,” said Dr. Kremchek. “The first phase gave us a field, but over time it became clear that to truly elevate the experience for our players, families, and community, we needed more seating, gathering spaces, atmosphere, and the energy that makes a ballpark feel special. It’s about creating a place where families gather, alumni stay connected, and future generations of Moeller baseball players feel proud to compete.”

Construction is scheduled to begin immediately, with the new stadium expected to open in time to welcome Crusader Baseball and the broader Moeller community next spring. The project caps a multi-phase investment in the Bucher Athletic Complex and reflects Moeller’s ongoing commitment to providing first-class facilities for its student-athletes.

Today’s groundbreaking also served as a celebration of the Kremchek family’s enduring connection to Moeller athletics — a relationship that spans decades of medical care, mentorship, and friendship. School leaders said the new stadium will stand as both a tribute to that legacy and an invitation to others to invest in the next generation of Crusaders.

“When our young men step onto this field, they will know that someone believed in them enough to make this possible,” Niehaus said. “That’s the kind of lesson that lasts long after graduation.”
